As the founder and managing director for BEF Education, I have transformed my passion for education into building an organization that focuses on empowering students to become self-directed individuals who are passionate about learning. I specialize in supporting diverse learners with an emphasis on executive functioning.
My educational background includes a B.S. in Behavioral Psychology and a Master of Education in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am Licensed as an Educator through the Illinois State Board of Education, certified to teach students K-12 with an endorsement in School Counseling as well as licensed as a Professional Counselor, LPC. I hold certifications in crisis prevention intervention, reading & literacy instruction, and behavioral analysis. Throughout my career I have supported students 1:1 as an executive function coach and academic tutor, trained professionals in the field of education on executive functioning and effective instruction for supporting diverse learners, provided behavioral therapy to individuals diagnosed with autism, served as an educational advocate for families navigating the special education system, developed and facilitated social emotional learning groups and workshops, and taught hundreds of classes focused on social emotional learning, study skills, and reading comprehension to students all over the world.
