About Grace

I have a bachelor's from the University of Chicago and years of experience tutoring students of all ages. My specialty is helping students with their writing, including academic essays, research papers, and college application essays. I have years of academic and professional writing experience and love helping students find their own voice and confidence in their writing.

While I love teaching many different forms of writing, my true specialty is college application essays. Having gone to a rigorous and competitive college prep school, I understand how high-stakes and intimidating the college application process can seem. What I help my students realize is that the personal essay is actually the place where they have the most freedom and the most power over their application. This is the section of the application where you get to introduce yourself on your own terms - where nothing, no past grades or irreversible test scores, gets to define who you are and why you deserve a spot at your dream school. Any tutor can help you become a technically excellent writer; what makes my tutoring unique is that I will also help you discover and own your own personal, unique voice as a writer.
