I am a college graduate currently working towards getting a PhD in chemistry. Previously, I was in medical school, but I left to pursue a PhD because I am interested in a research oriented path. I hope to become a college chemistry professor and run a research lab.
I have a love for teaching that I began to notice in college when I taught at an elementary school as a volunteer. I am passionate about teaching because I greatly enjoy problem solving, lifelong learning, and working with other people. I have developed strong communication skills that make it easy for me to talk with students.
As a pre-medical student, I excelled in many upper level science classes, such as cell biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, and organic chemistry. I also got straight A's in all psychology courses in college. On my Medical School Admissions Test (MCAT), I especially excelled in organic chemistry. After taking medical school courses, I gained an even more in-depth understanding of biology and chemistry.
