I have over a decade of tutoring experience and have been tutoring in the Chicago area for three years. I have the experience and knowledge base to help you work through your difficulties in math or science

I was raised in a family of educators and realized the joys of sharing knowledge with others at a young age. I started tutoring and assistant teaching in 8th grade. I continued in this pattern into my years at Northwestern University with the Center for Talent Development program. From my experiences, I understand that the learning process is a journey. As a tutor, my goal is to help my students discover the joy and power of mastering that journey.

I specialize in tutoring all levels of Math up to and including differential equations. Additional subjects I tutor are chemistry, physics, and engineering concepts. I will tutor up to the collegiate level. My knowledge base as a Material Science Engineer has given me a strong fundamental understanding of these subjects and the ability to relate these concepts to relevant real life problems. Furthermore I will tutor for GRE, ACT, SAT and AP math. These standardized tests all have structures, that when properly understood ensure student success.

When tutoring, my approach is to first assess what the students know then identify where their weakest point of understanding is. I will introduce problems that specifically engage the student in those areas. I take the time to find the explanation that resonates with my students. I want to build the skills necessary for students to succeed on their own in future endeavors.

I always appreciate communication with my students and their parents about difficulties and successes. Each client is an individual with unique needs and goals. The best for me to meet each clients's expectations is through your feedback.

I am willing to travel throughout the Chicago area that is CTA accessible. I do ask for 24 hour cancellation notice. However, I am always willing to reschedule and offer makeup sessions.
