About Vanessa

I am currently a Clinical Psychology PhD student studying in Southern Illinois University.

My specialty is is academic writing.

I have been teaching languages for 7 years now. I grew up being bilingual and was educated in both English and Mandarin.

I earned Chinese literature as my bachelor's degree, and studied Eastern Philosophy at National Taiwan University, the best-rated university in Taiwan. I was a TA at National Taiwan University, having taught Undergraduate school and graduate school. The diversity in culture I received trained me to be compassionate and enthusiastic towards students of all backgrounds.

I have a lot of experiences tutoring AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, Freshman Language Arts, Sophomore Language Arts, British/World Literature, American Literature, SAT, ESL, IELTS, TOELF, EPT, and academic writing for graduate students. My students ranged from 9 years old to 60 years old. In Mandarin, I have taught 學術論文寫作、小學中文、國中中文、高中中文.

I received great feedbacks from my students, and I am proud to say that they have all achieved their academic goals. I teach students to be a thinker and guide them towards academic success. I am a great teacher with ambition and passion!
