I am an experienced researcher, writer, and community service organizer with a demonstrated history of working in the mental health, early education, and higher education industries. I am skilled in Microsoft systems, public speaking, core curriculum math, test prep, and all humanities from History and English to Psychology and Gender Studies. Overall, I have built a strong, professional and academic background with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) focused in Psychology from Spelman College, as well as a Masters of Arts (M.A.) in African American Studies with a concentration in Community Empowerment from Georgia State University.
Currently, I work in both early education and higher education. As a substitute and classroom assistant, I am able to support classroom goals and student engagement to ignite a desire to learn. I have also had the pleasure of fostering relationships with over 100 children and 40 teachers within my Montessori school system. On the other end of the spectrum, I am a graduate research and teaching assistant for my master's program. In this position, I have been able to consult over 100 college students on research production and proper writing skills, as well as partner with professors to create relevant assignments, feedback, and in-class instruction. As a plus, I also attend workshops to cultivate excellence in teaching. During my undergraduate program, I also participated in high school tutoring programs on campus. Outside of campus, I was both a nanny and after school tutor of 2 for a wonderful family.
