I was born and raised in the Deaf community as a CODA and have since become a professional interpreter. Having grown up with deaf parents, ASL is my first language. I have experience teaching ASL from beginner to advanced levels. My goal is to help you get one step closer to your goal with each session we have together. I do not typically follow a traditional textbook approach. I can certainly teach you the technically correct grammar and language rules of ASL, but my aim is to help you think and sign like a native while learning, rather than having to relearn social norms in the future. Depending on your need I can help you with learning vocabulary, cultural background, facial expression, fingerspelling and receptive skills, grammar, conversational practice, feedback on your current signs, interpreting feedback, advanced situational vocabulary, and more. Whether you are a first-timer or have some experience, I would love to help you advance in your ASL skills!
