I'm Peyton! I recently graduated summa cum laude from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in chemistry. During my time in college, I served as an undergraduate TA for general chemistry. I have greatly enjoyed helping my students learn chemistry and am interested in continuing to help students struggling with a subject I love so much. I know that a teacher/ tutor can make all the difference in how much a student enjoys a subject. I also understand that each individual has a different learning style and different needs. I try to incorporate these ideas into the way I teach. My main areas of expertise lie in high school and college general chemistry, but I also willing to help with upper level college chemistry courses such as organic chemistry. I hope to be able to guide my students through the learning process and help them to achieve their goals while hopefully helping them to enjoy chemistry.
As a recent college graduate in chemistry, I am highly qualified to help students learn chemistry. I served as an undergraduate teaching assistant for 1 year. During that time, I was responsible for facilitating laboratory experiments and recitations, and holding office hours. I typically had 21-24 students in my section but was available to all general chemistry students during my office hours. I interacted with students both one on one and as a group, allowing me to develop new strategies for explaining difficult concepts. Additionally, this experience has allowed me to understand where students commonly have misconceptions.
Please contact me if you are interested in setting up lessons or if you have any questions. I am excited to help my students and welcome any suggestions. My response time is generally very fast.
