I have 16 years experience teaching high school English. My undergraduate degree is in English from UMBC, with a focus on writing and literature. My graduate degree is in Secondary Education from McDaniel College in MD. I taught in Baltimore County 15 years, and recently moved and became Florida certified.
I love literature and writing, all kinds. I can help you to analyze themes and characters or abstract poetry in any piece of literature. Together, we could analyze the power (or weakness) of persuasive writing. I can help you to improve your own writing, especially argument writing and creative pieces.
I also have experience with SAT test preparation, verbal and writing,and can help students with their College Admissions essay.
I have worked with many of my students one-on-one as needed, and would love to help you as well! Currently, I am not teaching full time because I need some flexibility to help my aging parents; so my schedule is open for tutoring!
