For the past 16 years, I have been employed at the VA Medical Center at a Clinical Nurse Educator. I have taught RNs, LPNs, and Nursing Assistants new clinical procedures and products, new or changed clinical protocols, new or changed nursing policies, and updated nursing issues and trends, I have extensive experience in developing, implementing, teaching, and evaluating many nursing courses for nurses. Some of these include EKG Interpretation, Charge Nurse Workshop, Assessment of the Respiratory System, Preventing Medication Errors, and more.
I have a relaxed, down-to-earth way of teaching and can teach complex ideas or theories in an easy-to-understand fashion. Some concepts can be hard for nursing students to grasp but I can explain those in a way that students can understand in a relevant manner.
My teaching philosophy is that I put relevance into theory and action behind concepts. I attempt to have the nursing student think and act as if they were already a licensed RN
