I am a state certified teacher with over 10 years of experience of teaching math and science at the secondary and college levels. My approach to teaching these subjects is conceptual. I train my students to make connections between the abstraction of Algebra and real-world applications.
In my experience, I've found that students learn mathematics most efficiently through conceptual-based learning and active engagement in problem solving. Because of this, I will teach you problem solving strategies and help you improve mathematical proficiency through challenging problems. I will also help you build mathematical intuition needed to break down difficult concepts. I am able to really break down problems for better understanding and love to explain concepts from many different angles to help with anxiety and to build your confidence level.
I give both individual and group sessions. I am usually available in the mornings and afternoons, but I'm flexible with students. My sessions are of two types; one for assigned work (homework, tests, etc.) and one centered on problem solving techniques and methods of proof. I assign problems once a week, to give you more practice with what you've learned.
I look forward to hearing from you! I'll help you succeed in your studies!
