I am a seasoned educator with over 30 years of experience both in and out of the classroom.
I served as Adjunct Professor of Spanish and ESL for Community College in NY for 8 years. I also was Reading Teacher/Consultant for 3 years in the Kansas City Public School and Houston, Texas. I have a Masters in Education (K-6) as well.
Currently, I work with adults and school age students in the Spanish language. My younger students are those requiring additional academic support in learning the Spanish language. Most of my adult Spanish students simply want to learn the language to assist them in their jobs.
As an ESL teacher, I have had the opportunity to work with international businessmen and their families in the field of 'English as a Second Language'. Many of them will live in this country for a short period of time, but during that time, they need to improve their English reading and writing skills in order to adjust to their new surroundings.
Having worked in the field of Special Education for over 25 years, I enjoy the freedom to explore alternative teaching methods that might bring success to youngsters with varying degrees of " ability " and learning styles. No two days are ever alike, which, makes it even more interesting and definitely challenging!
