My name is Tamrah Chalom and I have been working with HeyTutor for 7 years now. I received my Bachelor's degree in Communications at UCLA and my Master's in Social Work at Columbia University. I have been tutoring for over 8 years in various subjects, specializing in Sciences and Mathematics. I have tutored several students in Biology, Chemistry, AP Biology, Algebra I and II, Geometry, and Calculus, Statistics, Economics, SAT Math, and so much more. I also mentor youth, adolescents and adults in personal development and academic enrichment. Finally, I have significant experience tutoring students living with developmental and/or cognitive disabilities (including but not limited to ADHD, dysgraphia, auditory processing disorder, etc.).
I work to identify students’ learning gaps and create a structured, personalized lesson plan to both improve their learning skills and optimize classroom success. All of my students have made substantial grade improvements, many from the C / D range to the A range. Finally, I have worked with several students with learning disabilities and helped them develop interventional strategies to help maintain their focus, overcome challenges, and enjoy learning!I am extremely patient, diligent, and reliable. My second session with Tamrah was just as good as the first! As someone with ADHD, being able to explain information, especially math, to me can be somewhat challenging for a tutor or teacher. Tamrah was both extremely patient, courteous, and as always, highly proficient and knowledgeable. She was able to make the information easily understood to me, as well as relevant.
