A patient, passionate, hard-working individual with twelve years of experience working with children and teenagers with disabilities. I am currently a doctoral student in GW's Special Education Doctoral program. Its been my life's mission to help teenagers cope with all the difficulties that come with having ADHD. Using a whole host of strategies I have developed through many years of professional experience and my own personal struggles with ADHD I help students turn their weaknesses into strengths. I tackle everything from why they can't seem to keep their room neat to why they can't seem to pass their test even after studying for hours to why they always fight with their parents over their homework. I provide up to three 90-minute sessions a week and cater my services to each individual child. Instead of taking a purely instructional approach, the student and I become a team, tackling each issue the child has, with the ultimate goal of making them independent, adaptable and college ready. I also provide academic interventions when needed and am particularly strong in English and History subject matters.
