I have a broad background as an educator, with experience teaching graduate students all the way down to pre-school. I specialize in mathematics education and am currently a doctoral candidate in mathematics education at Teachers College, Columbia University. I am able to teach the range of primary, middle school, high school and advanced placement mathematics courses, as well as economics, business, and finance. I have three years experience teaching in progressive New York City public and private primary schools where I learned to prepare lesson plans and target lessons to the varied individual needs of students. I am a patient and encouraging teacher and focus on teaching critical thinking and problem solving skills. In addition to teaching, I have eight years of experience managing 20 employees as the chief operating and financial officer of a carbon credit-focused environmental business. I hold a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia Business School and a BA in Psychology with a minor in Education from Barnard College. When not teaching, I enjoy helping my two kids with their math homework, playing chess and other strategy games, and playing music on the cello.
