Hi! My name is Danielle and I have over 12 years of experience teaching my own classroom. I have taught every grade from Pre-K to Third Grade! I was a tenured teacher at the New York City Department of Education in Manhattan for 10 years before moving to Connecticut. I am certified to teach elementary school in the states of Connecticut and New York. I have my Master's Degree in Elementary Education and my Bachelor's Degree in Media Studies with a minor in English.
As a teacher, I am responsible for creating an enriching classroom environment that fosters learning using a broad spectrum of activities and experiences. I support children in developing a wide range of language, early literacy and math, social-emotional, and physical skills. I have strong skills in creating standards-based, differentiated, and interactive learning activities. I am also skilled in observing and reporting on child development as well as building solid rapport with children, families, and staff.
In addition to being a very organized teacher, I am creative, reliable, enthusiastic, and sensitive to each student’s individual needs. I possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as solid computer skills.
I believe in positive reinforcement! In order for children to be successful in my classroom (or tutoring with me) they need to feel loved, valued, and as if they can trust me. Building a relationship with your child that involves mutual respect and trust is a priority for me. Many of my students often keep in touch with me even after they leave my classroom. I believe a great teacher can make a positive impact in a child's life.
I look forward to working with you!!
