WORDsmith: I was a dedicated and passionate teacher of English/Language Arts in grades 7-12 for more than 30 years in NH, Maine, MA, and, most recently, for nearly twenty-three years in CT's Technical High School system. During that time, I also worked on developing curriculum materials in vocabulary, writing, and grammar/usage; previously, I had worked as a project editor for basal textbooks for two major national schoolbook publishers. I believe, as the proverb says, that "Words are the voice of the heart." Learning to read insightfully develops our understanding of the human condition, and learning to write more proficiently helps us to see and communicate who we are. I am most interested in helping students to become their best selves using language in a way that helps them succeed.
