There are six traits that make up good writing, and they all work together*.
1)Ideas and Content – a clear, understandable, and meaningful message
2)Organization – the order and structure of the content
3)Voice – unique, educated, qualified, and entertaining (word choice + sentence fluency =
4)Word Choice – the specific vocabulary used to convey the message
5)Sentence Fluency – the length of each sentence creating a natural, and easy rhythm
6)Conventions – the rules that make the content understandable i.e. grammar, spelling,
*Look at how 3)voice is created by the 5)rhythm of varying sentence length and the 4)connotations and perceptions of specific vocabulary.
Every writer has natural strengths and weaknesses when it comes to these six traits. I can help you with specific traits at any level. I can also help with specific pieces, like but not limited to: Non fiction: expository, argumentative, functional, opinion, article, narrative, essay, thesis, reports in science, math, art, literature, technology, history, government, economics, politics, philosophy, education, music, college essay, memoir
