Hi, my name is Alice Snyder! I graduated from UC Berkeley with a BS and Ohio State with a MS in Environmental Science. I love environmental science and teaching everything associated with it (biology, chemistry, ecology, mathematics, statistics, etc.)
I trained to be a K-12 science teacher while studying at UC Berkeley. My goal in tutoring is to instill knowledge and confidence in my students. I think everyone has the ability to succeed with the right guidance and determination. I have been a tutor for over 4 years and am comfortable teaching any age in most subjects.
Outside of teaching, I am a gymnastics coach and athlete. I have coached for 6 years and excel in encouraging and motivating students in a safe and healthy environment. I also work as a Board Member for a non-profit organization where I lead several committees. I love hiking, adventuring, movies, and science!
Cancellation/Reschedule Policies
1. No-show or less than 12-hour cancellation/reschedule = Full session payment required
2. Less than 24-hour cancellation/reschedule = Half session payment required
3. Greater than 24-hour cancellation/reschedule = Inquire about rescheduling, no fee charged
Pre-Session requirements
1. You may be asked to provide homework examples or relevant materials prior to each session. To make the most of our time together and to experience a smooth and efficient session, I may need to view the coursework you are struggling with at least 24-hours in advance of the session so I can best prepare.
2. All sessions are held via HeyTutor website (Zoom or GoogleMeet platforms if issues arise on the HeyTutor website). If you are not familiar with these application, please investigate the programs and test out the functions prior to the first session. If you are requesting basic computer tutoring, we may go over how to use either the HeyTutor lesson website, Zoom or GoogleMeet during the first session.
In-Session etiquette
1. I implore all students to engage in polite and professional discussion and refrain from expletives, or demeaning language.
2. While it is always preferred to see my student's faces while teaching, you are not required to have your camera turned on.
3. I ask that you are in a quiet, distraction-free area during each session.
