I received my B.S. in Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, where I also worked as a college math and physics tutor for over two years. I will be attending the University of Washington in the fall to pursue a PhD in experimental physics. My tutoring approach begins by emphasizing fundamental problem solving concepts and practices that can be applied to any physics problems, and then going into the individual nuances of each problem a student many encounter. I have found this approach to be extremely successful in the students I have tutored in the past as well as during my own studies in upper-level physics courses.
