I have been speaking Spanish my whole life. I studied Spanish for 5 years with an "A" average, and my mother was a Spanish teacher for over twenty years, so she instilled a good deal of information in me. Having also studied Latin and German, I consider myself a linguist. It is true that I don't have much college education, but I spent many years working at a company whose majority of employees were native Spanish speakers with little to no English ability. I would interpret meetings, help new employees with translating their tax information, interpret everyday problems and insights for managers, and converse regularly with the Spanish speakers. At Prince George High, where I graduated in 2003, I tutored in Spanish with marked improvement from all my students. In day to day life I have helped a friend achieve her minor in Spanish by bettering her pronunciation; Spanish is not just on paper, being able to speak and understand spoken is an important aspect in order to pass AP and other tests. More recently, I completed a Spanish/English Medical Interpreter course at UCCS, and earned my ACTFL Certification in Reading Spanish. My tutoring style focuses on easy memorization of grammar, use of derivatives to better understand vocabulary, and correct pronunciation. Thank you for your consideration and I hope to hear from you soon.
