Despite not having a teaching degree myself, I come from a family of teachers. From college level down to elementary school-aged teachers, our family is involved in education.
Since 2015 I have worked in our local school mainly helping new readers learn everything from the basic ABCs to getting those same readers into reading chapter books. I have assisted teachers in helping with English writing as well. In my spare time, I have volunteered with our parent-teacher organization, and have helped out with our local youth sports programs.
While my specialty is English, I have experience helping children with most elementary-level school subjects. At one point I helped first-graders finish homework packets which included, reading, writing, and beginner-level math.
I have a 6th grader and a 3rd grader of my own so I'm up to date on most of the subjects being taught in the younger grades.
