I have a Bachelors Degree from UC Berkeley and an Education Specialist Credential and Masters Degree in Special Education from Chapman University. I worked as a Learning Specialist in the public schools at the elementary (K-6) level and then, after having kids, worked part-time on a contractual bases at a Speech Pathology office and a private school, offering individual academic therapy to students requiring specialized instruction. I am both adept and passionate about working with students who have academic challenges and disabilities and discovering new and innovative ways to maximize their learning potential. Every child is capable of learning when they are taught in a way that is accessible and meaningful to them. I enjoy developing curriculum and therapy that meets every child's individual learning needs. I have worked with numerous students with reading disabilities and Dyslexia and have done additional training on Dyslexia instruction. I also love to teach Mathematics because I am able to teach a skill in various ways to ensure complete understanding.
