Finding the right tutor means finding someone who is encouraging, not simply smart.
I've been writing since I was 12. I have a commissioned history book, over 500 published articles worldwide, and a historical documentary under my belt. I never stop learning, and neither, I hope, will you!
I've tutored reading, taught writing and ESL/ESOL (English as a Second Language) and prepared students for essay writing. I can test with Dolsch Sight Words to see what words trip you up when you're reading. I can help you with essay writing skills, story breakdowns (I also write movie scripts) and proper English grammar, including those tricky punctuation usage problems.
I also teach ESL, or English as a Second Language. I taught Adult Ed for two years, levels 5, 6 and 7, but I also filled in for levels 1-4. I can meet you where you are, and you'll learn proper pronunciation, which is often missed in a classroom situation. I can teach you how to take a simple sentence of subject, verb and direct object and help you create sentences that describe and give necessary information to the reader. I've also taught small group classes for teens and adults.
My goal is to make reading and writing a joy, not a torture chamber!
