Students I specialize in struggle with spelling, even high frequency words like "because" and "friend". Although they can sometimes read (up to a point) they have great difficulty sounding out unknown words. Often, their ability to read and spell is beginning to affect their confidence at school.

I am a tutor certified in the Barton system, a research-based program designed to make reading and spelling accessible to those who are struggling. The Barton system teaches reading and spelling from the ground up, in a logical way.

I provide instruction in person in the California Bay Area, and remotely across the US. In addition to owning my own business, I volunteer my tutoring services at a local elementary school.

I utilize a positive, motivational teaching style to help my students feel as comfortable and successful as possible.
