I have a B.A. in Liberal Studies, Preparation for Teaching from San Jose State University, I am currently pursuing my teaching credential and M.A. in education.
As a substitute teacher, I have worked with culturally diverse groups ranging from ages 5-18. I worked in 4 school districts covering multiple subjects, such as English, math, physical education, science, and art. I also have multiple experiences tutoring English and math at the elementary school level. I have worked with Reading Partners as well as Sylvan Learning. When I am not teaching in the classroom, I am teaching bodybuilding and powerlifting techniques as well as diet plans.
Rather than memorization, I teach to create a genuine and meaningful learning experience. True learning happens when students are able to fully understand and analyze problems. My goal is to help students gain a deeper understanding of the curriculum and develop a true understanding of learning.
