About Kirk

I am a mathematics teacher and tutor with 13 years experience in the classroom. I have taught students in grades 6 - 12, and tutored students in grades 2 - 12. I understand that mathematics is difficult and am particularly skilled at working with young people who lack self-confidence in mathematics. I believe everybody can grow in mathematics and I work to help students develop their self-efficacy in math while simultaneously demystifying challenging mathematics concepts. My sense of humor and my way of helping students be empowered in their learning experiences is what my students love most about me!

I grew up in the Boston area where I attended excellent public and private schools. I lived in San Francisco for 14 years, and then moved to India to teach at an international private school. I am an avid traveler, love swimming (and teaching others to swim), I am teaching myself to code, and on a typical day off, I can be found hiking or doing any number of outdoor activities, reading at a cafe, or exploring the city!
