I am a college graduate from the University of California, Riverside with a B.S. in Business Administration and a B.A. in Psychology. I've been in school the majority of my life and I always found my school work to be a lot easier whenever I helped and worked with friends. Ever since I've been in school, I've enjoyed working on assignments and projects with friends and classmates because problems make more sense when we tackle them together. In high school, I was a part of a successful tutoring club that my fellow students established at Arcadia High School. In college, I was a Peer Counselor at the Academic Resources center and my job entailed helping students whose GPA had fallen below 2.0 and/or were on a 'subject to dismiss' case. All of my students managed to pick up their school work simply with the motivation I provided and had successful academic quarters. This taught me 2 things about life; First, it's never about how smart you are. Intelligence and natural skill can only take you so far. But hard work, discipline and dedication can allow you to achieve what others would forever doubt you can ever hope to accomplish. Second, we always do better in dealing with challenges in life when we have someone to help guide us through the journey. I plan to be the Gandalf of this journey (excuse my poor attempt at humor) and light the way for students towards a life of academic success in a fun and enjoyable manner.
