My name is Cindy. I tutor common core math and other subjects. In the last few years, I have often worked with students who find school more challenging. Many of the students have a background which makes adjusting to typical school demands more difficult. I struggled with math in school and struggling students have my sympathy and understanding.
I do my best to make the subject matter make sense to the student by connecting material to topics the student has expertise in, or has experienced. When feasible, I believe incorporating functional activities can significantly deepen learning of subject material.
I have a breadth of knowledge of school academics Pre-K to 12 and apply creativity to assist students become more successful at school.
