I'm a recent graduate from Louisiana State University with a double major in English and African & African-American Studies.
My goal is to help students understand concepts and increase their proficiency in ELA and/or Social Studies.
I have seven years of experience working in Arts-based interdisciplinary education settings providing amazing results to diverse groups of students.
I take the success of each student very seriously. Through data-driven analysis of student progress and personally tailored educational activities, I tutor with the goal of long term success in mind.
I believe that in order to be a great teacher, you have to be a great student. I am committed to creating an environment of reciprocal learning in order to optimize student success.
My experience includes:
- Program Instructor at Big Buddy, Inc. teaching a summer-long writing workshop to sixth-grade students.
- AmeriCorps Member with City Year, Inc. tracking student progress and coaching students through challenging subject areas.
