Hi everyone! I am Mexican-American who has spoken Spanish her whole life. I am a former Spanish teacher with two years of experience in the classroom. I taught Non-natives level 2, Spanish for natives level 2, and Spanish Literature Honors. I challenged students through analytical and creative writing in Spanish. I have experience teaching and facilitating lessons surrounding the following texts: Como agua para chocolate, La casa de Bernarda Alba, El caballo mago, El gringo viejo, La ciudad y los perros, 20 poemas de amor, and many other short stories that are AP level. In addition, I engaged students with oral presentations, literature circles, and music for grammar lessons. I also dedicated 10 hours of individualized sessions for struggling students; in these sessions, I taught students how to identify their mistakes, provide additional exemplars, etc. My favorite part of Spanish is being able to expand connections from one's immediate circle, which is the essence of being a human. In addition to my in-class experience, I have also studied in Ecuador for six months and tutored elementary aged children the following subjects: Spanish, English, History, etc. in a small impoverished school.
¡Estoy emocionada a enseñarles cómo hablar este idioma tan hermoso!
