I am Ran. I graduated with a Master degree in Education from Stanford University, and a minor in Psychology. I completed my student teaching at Henry M. Gunn High School from 2018-2019. I taught in a Chinese 2 class and also assist and occasionally teach in Chinese 1 class. I have been challenged to create engaging lesson plans that address a variety of learning styles and ability levels. The specialized coursework I have received at Stanford has been instrumental in providing me with the tools to create lessons that are predicted both upon the ACTFL standards, as well as the California World Language Standards.

I started tutoring around 6 years ago and help my students with college-level essays and have achieved great success by bringing up their grades. During my years of experience, I found out that I actually really enjoy being a teacher especially as a private tutor, because of the connection I get to make with my students. I've worked in a lot of different places being a responsible teacher and on my way to get a teaching credential.

I gained a TESOL Certificate through the University of Rochester which gives me a lot of professional knowledge on working with second language learners. In addition, I've received great feedback from my young kid students and adults students as well. I enjoy being with every one of my students and I care about not only their grades but also their learning experience with me. I have also tutored a lot of students and helped them improve their TOEFL scores and test-taking skills. I had students made 47 points (out of 120) improvements in the TOEFL Test after having my course for 4 months.
