I have a degree in pharmacology for which I studied anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and calculus. However, it has been a long time since graduation, and I did not pursue a career in my field of study. I instead chose to stay at home with my child who was diagnosed with autism. My interests diverged into neuroscience and I have a genuine appreciation for neurodiversity and individualized learning styles. I Like to use multiple modalities When teaching and will often employ tangibles with rhymes or songs and perhaps even a dance to enlist some muscle memory. I have primarily worked with elementary aged children, and haven't used calculus since the nineties. I don't particularly want to re learn how to integrate and differentiate, I could tutor algebra. My real specialty is making curriculum accessible for those who don't think like the average.
