Hello,
I am a credentialed High School English Teacher, only I switched to private tutoring after becoming a mom. I tutor English K-College and can help you with reading (including love of reading), writing (including College essays), and everything in between.

I also tutor Math and all other subjects K-9, as I somehow happen to be good at explaining topics of all kinds to students.

I like to think that I am a friendly tutor whose students sometimes chuckle during our sessions. I am also pretty flexible, as I adapt to the needs and preferences of the student in front of me. This is even more so now that all our sessions happen through zoom, and I often am available at the last minute. I tend to use graphic organizers, drawings, and real life anecdotes to really ensure the student is grasping the content as well as learning the general concepts behind it. I see myself as students' guide on their road to independence and my job is to give them as many strategies as possible, including metacognition - self monitoring.

I hold an MA in English from a University in Paris, and an MA in Teaching High School English from Smith College in Massachusetts.
