About Ebony

Hi. My name is Ebony & you can call me Eb if you like. I’m a 26 year old with a true passion for United States History, English and Writing. I have been tutoring for a little bit over four years and have had great success with my students, ranging from middle school to college-age and non-traditional students. From assisting students at continuation schools to advanced students in AP courses, I treat each student with respect and dignity. Whether it’s one-on-one or group tutoring, I enjoy engaging my students with a mixture of fun and attainable goals. I aspire to apply the subject matter to real world situations to allow my students to fully understand the relevance and necessity of using History and the English language in their everyday lives.
As an educator and previous Academic Advisor, I make sure that the skills you learn from me correlate to tools you will need to succeed in our global economy.

My professional mission is to assist diverse groups of folks reach their full potential in an education environment by creating an academic and cultural support system. By being a tutor, I can do so by providing assistance to students in their daily lives. This mission is supported by utilizing my strengths, fine tuning my talents and allowing my values to create accountability to stay authentic to myself. My mission creates space for equity and compassionate service in our local region by establishing community building as a priority in the student experience. This mission has the power to transform my tutoring services by acknowledging the complex needs of students by utilizing Servant Leadership, while transforming the way tutoring is equipped to assist these scholars reach their academic goals.
