Hello everyone! My name is Alan. I am a Mechanical Engineer from CSUF and have a passion for the aerospace world. I used to work at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, as well as Cal Tech. I was able to land that job due to my good ties with the school, as I was a teacher's assistant for physics, precalculus and calculus on different occasions. At first, I was nervous about being in front of people and even scared at the thought that I could forget some particular concept students could ask me. Later I realized that I was not only comfortable, but I loved helping others succeed academically.
I am a very friendly and patient person, so I will always work at your pace to reach your goals. My main focus of teaching is understanding how your professor has structured his/her class so we can work efficiently towards bringing your grade up. A class feels like a huge fluff sometimes, and more often than not, you are left with the thought "when am I ever gonna use this again?", and the harsh truth is, a large portion of what you have learned will not be used again indeed. This is what makes me particularly good at tutoring, because I am honest and I will help you weed out the information you don't need, focus on what you do, and be utterly efficient with your time.
I have been tutoring students now for 4 years, youngest being 9 years old, oldest around 40 and everything in between from elementary school to college senior classes. Don't hesitate to contact me if you want more details I am very flexible and I will be happy to talk. It never hurts to ask. I promise we will get along.
