I am a cum laude graduate from Boston University with 5+ years of experience tutoring the maths and sciences to private clients and in a preparatory institution. My dedication to my students allows me to build a dynamic relationship which, in turn, provides them with a clear and coherent understanding of the subjects that I specialize in.
Years of experience have shown me two things that are vital to seeing improvement: interest and enthusiasm for the subject, and fundamental understanding of concepts. In my experience the second precedes the first. Students often memorize patterns, and while this is important, it is also tedious. Beginning with fundamental reasoning helps students understand methods rather than merely memorizing. And I have seen with my past students that this correlates with a feeling of mastering the task at hand, resulting in increased enthusiasm for the subject.
