Hi, my name is Zevin.
I have been working with students in education for the past 5+ years. Currently, I am currently a middle school teacher in Los Angeles working with eighth graders. I have experience working with elementary to high school students with varying abilities and skills. Specifically, I have tutored students in all subjects including (Science, English, Math, Spanish, and History). In addition, I work closely with students to help them develop better study habits and skills so that they can be successful learners in school and life. My goal as a tutor is to help students find best practices and strategies to help them discover answers on their own.
When it comes with tutoring, I love to build relationships with students and work together to find what works for each students. From my past experiences, I know students achieve and excel when they feel confident and most importantly supported. It is really rewarding to witness a student achieve when they are given the proper support and care. I am a firm believer that tutors can have a huge impact on children.
I have served as an after school tutor and AVID tutor in public schools tutoring 8th and 7th graders. In addition, I was a classroom aide to a teacher who taught both Algebra and Pre-Alegbra as well as 5th grade mathematics.
I have studied Spanish from high school to the college level. In addition, I completed a 6 month language immersion program in Chile.
I have integrated literature, reading as well as writing in my daily curriculum as a middle school social studies teacher.
I am available most week days as well as weekends to support you in any way I can so please don't hesitate to contact me!
