I recently graduated from Cal Poly with a bachelors in physics. I am currently preparing to apply to grad school to pursue a doctorate in experimental physics. Over the last 2 summers, I taught algebra for high schoolers at a community college which changed my perspective on teaching STEM. I believe that focusing on conceptual knowledge is much more effective than rote learning. My own personal experience having had tutors in high school further reinforces my teaching philosophy. I am passionate about the environment and I have been involved multiple alternative energy research projects. I also love to surf and mountain bike.
