With over six years of paid tutoring experience (and several more just to help out classmates and friends) I have been in the business of helping others academically since before I graduated high school. I work with students in middle and high school, who I know can have a really difficult time as the homework load starts to pile on. While I can certainly assist with all manner of English Language Arts and Literature classes (is your English teacher boring you to death with Shakespeare? They're doing it wrong, I can help!), the thing I am best at is very personalized writing assistance. No matter what sort of writing you're facing, or what sorts of difficulties you're having, I can help you reach your full potential. It's something I take seriously, of course, but I also find it fun, too, and I try to bring that excitement to every student, no matter how unenthusiastic they are about five paragraph essays and thesis construction.
And, while I don't, necessarily, specialize in special education, I do have extensive experience with not only academic content tutoring, but the sort of executive functioning assistance that those with ADHD (or anyone who's having a little trouble keeping on top of their responsibilities!) really benefit from. Whether you want particular help in keeping your student on track across all of their schoolwork, or just need an English tutor who knows what to do with a student who has difficulties staying focused, I will find a strategy to help!
