The best part of teaching is - you the students! My coaching and teaching experience consists of working over six years in the field of strength and conditioning training students ranging from elementary school children to collegiate and Olympic athletes. Specifically, I have had the privilege of training collegiate athletes in the United Kingdom (UK), Spain, Italy, and in the United States of America (USA). I have also had the privilege to train with British Olympic athletes ranging from rugby players to professional mountain bikers.

Other titles I have held include teaching chemistry and biology at Citizens of the World Charter High School and teaching microbiology courses as a graduate assistant at East Los Angeles College.

My teaching philosophy is based on that for educators to become effective teachers in their disciplines, they must tailor their teaching methodology to meet the needs of the students. Using and creating a student-oriented curriculum has led me to see success in student performance, both inside and outside of the classroom setting. This is achieved by using active learning by presenting course material and relating it to current situations and scenarios, which results in students grasping concepts much more effectively.

I earned my Bachelor's of Art in Sociology from California State University, Los Angeles, and recently earned a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Azusa Pacific University. I also hold a Master's of Science in Kinesiology - Sport and Exercise Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, and I am currently working on my Master's of Science in Nursing degree at Azusa Pacific University.

My goals as an educator and future provider are to educate while working with athletes both on the field and in the medical setting.

I welcome the privilege to work with students this semester and am excited to teach the complexities and mysteries in the field of science, sports, and medicine. I expect students to bring their best to the classroom setting as I expected no less from my collegiate athletes.
