With 20 years of experience, I won't lie. I Love Tutoring AP Calculus.
Some stories include bringing a "D student" to an AP Calculus BC score of 4 in just 9 hours of tutoring -- a review/cram weekend. I'd say 80%-90% of my serious AP Calculus students pass with 20% of the total scoring a 4 and 20% of the total scoring a 5.
I have had many students who have passed the Calculus AP. I can teach the entire AP Calculus AB curriculum in about 24 hours (but I am not going to officially guarantee it).
I also have an affinity for teaching many other math subjects: Algebra I, Algebra II, Math Analysis/PreCal, and Trigonometry. Also I tutor for the SAT: Math and SAT: Math Subject Tests.
My goal is to teach students beyond what they need to know. At first some fundamentals or catching up may be required. After the student catches up, though, our goal is to get ahead with a few related and oftentimes "tricky" math puzzles.
For factoring I generally give this extra-tough problem once we are past the basics of that section:
Factor: x^6 - 9x^5 - 5x^4 + 45x^3 + 4x^2 - 36x
Believe it or not, the students can do this. And that is the goal - to go from trailing to previewing.
