I have been teaching for over 25 years in public education with my full secondary (6-12) certification in math. I most recently taught Algebra 1 in the Scottsdale Unified District and have made teaching Algebra 1 a priority in my career. This particular high school subject often requires a teacher with a great deal of patience and I pride myself in being that person for well over a hundred students each year. When not teaching I enjoy tutoring students who are currently taking Algebra 1 or Pre-Algebra in their own school.
I specialize in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade math through Algebra 1. Virtually all the students I tutor experience an increase in their math grades. Believe it or not, I also needed a tutor in high school to experience success in math. I understand the importance of having someone who is patient and can explain things in simplistic terms, which is not often the case in the general classroom.
