Hi, I'm Sasha! I'm originally from the Bay Area, but ended up coming to Arizona for college at Barrett Honors College at ASU and loved the desert so much I never left!
I regularly tutored 10+ elementary and middle school students throughout high school.
My senior year of high school, I replaced a graduating senior as President of the Student Equity Action Network (SEAN), a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, whose goal is to bridge the opportunity gap through academic tutoring, SAT/ACT practice, college prep, and community outreach. During my year as President, I was able to provide academic and college preparatory resources for twelve students of color, of which four seniors went on to a four-year university as a first-generation college student. I personally tutored one student daily in all subjects as well as standardized test practice.
I graduated from the #51 nationally ranked high school with a 3.8 unweighted GPA, 4 AP tests passed, and a composite 32 on my ACT - 34 in reading, writing, and my essay - which puts me in the 97th percentile.
At ASU, I majored in Justice Studies, a reading, writing, and critical thinking intense major that examined the intersection of race, gender, and class on our political systems. I graduated in 3.5 years with a 4.0 and a thesis focused on diversity in the tech ecosystem.
I've been working full time in tech startups for just under 4 years now, but I still love helping family friends and coworkers' children with classes, standardized tests, and prep for college applications. My favorite thing to do is help high school juniors plan our their college application process including test prep, major selection, school selection, and organizing the college process!
