I have a bachelor's degree in biology from Alabama State University; a master's degree in secondary education; an education specialist degree in curriculum, instruction, and assessment from Walden University; and a doctorate of education student (currently writing dissertation) from Walden University. I have taught science in Alabama for grades 6-12 for 16 years. I have been deemed as a highly qualified teacher in biology by Alabama's State Department of Education, certified for grade 6-12 science. I currently teach general and AP high school biology courses at a local urban school, as well as work as an adjunct college freshman biology teacher at a local technical school. During these 16 years, I have worked as a biology tutor for the school district, as well as for private tutoring companies. I have experience tutoring with ACT prep in science and worked as a gifted-program teacher in Alabama State University's upward bound program, specializing in the life sciences.
