During my professional career, I have worked as a bilingual paraeducator in the dual language program (Spanish/ English) at Scenic Hill. Subsequently, I received my TEFL Certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) which allowed me to contract a position with The Ministry of Education as an English Teacher in Colombia. Once there, I received supplementary training from UNICA (La Institución Universitaria Colombo Americana) as a foreign language teacher. I taught nearly a year there before returning to Washington. Upon my return, I gained employment as a 2nd grade Spanish Dual Language Teacher at Kent Elementary while simultaneously earning my Masters in Education in Instructional Design. That subsequent summer, I began working as a Bilingual Middle School Teacher for a nonprofit organization called EL Centro de la Raza in Seattle Washington. A position in which I had also worked the summer prior. In the fall of 2018, I was hired as a 4th grade Spanish Dual Language Teacher at Concord International Elementary for the Seattle School District thereby allowing me to further develop my professional and academic competencies. In 2019, I returned as a bilingual Middle School Teacher for El Centro de la Raza. Currently, I am a 4th grade elementary teacher for the Kent School District.
