My name is Soleil Grant and I am thrilled to be your tutor. I would not be where I am today without the tutoring I received as a young student and I love passing on the techniques that helped me succeed. Most tutors just go over information and review practice problems - this is not enough! After assessing a student's learning and communication style, I develop a customized system of studying and quizzing that is tailored to their personality and needs. While I absolutely believe in classic principles like repetition and practice, I am also an advocate for innovation. I like to use open conversation, visual aides, creative note taking, and even physical movement when applicable. I also love to utilize technology and digital platforms so that students are engaged and can study effectively even when they are not with me in person. I provide students with strategies to master concepts, move more quickly through material and provide them with techniques to use when they're unsure during tests and quizzes.I focus a lot on confidence building and mental preparation, too, because, enthusiasm and helping students relax is key!

I am committed to helping students focus and remain motivated through multi-sensory teaching. One reason why I did well in school is because I mastered studying and preparation. As I got older, what really made me reach high standards was my ability to focus and to remain devoted to finishing my year with good grades. My goal is to instill techniques I used in school in my students so that they will know how to digest new material, comprehend it, transform it into sizable items to study, and then perform well on examinations because they developed a second nature understanding of that material. Whether it is a timed test or written essay, I will pass on strategies that they will be able to apply to any concept or subject in their future journey as a student.

I make learning fun by implementing artistic activities, songs, visual aides, and even snacks, if parents allow. I am here to ensure that you improve. My sessions are positive, high-energy and fun. I also tutor for the SAT, so feel free to inquire about my separate rates for that.
