I am a certified ESL and Japanese teacher currently persuing a Master's degree for TESOL in New York. I teach Japanese at LaGuardia Community College and work at Columbia University in the Japanese department. It is my mission to provide the highest quality Japanese and English lessons to my students, and I specialize in education for adult learners.
I was a 5th year ALT on the JET Programme. (Ask me how I transferred from Nagasaki to Tokyo!) I taught high school, middle school, and special education English classes. Since then, I've been teaching adults and children here in New York City. As a native English speaker who has studied Japanese, I know the most effective methods to learn it.
I love teaching Japanese and English! They're both so much fun to learn. I can teach you what you need to know to visit Japan, sing karaoke, or become a translator. Anything for my amazing students.
