Qualifications & Experience

I am a passionate tutor and writer, with a unique and comprehensive understanding of narrative, rhetoric, and grammar. Throughout my experience in graduate school, diverse teaching positions, and freelance writing, I have learned to cherish and cultivate clear, intentional writing, and how to effectively help others do the same.

In my undergraduate, I attended NYU’s Tisch School for the Arts, where I majored in Film and TV. After several years analyzing film with a specialization in screenwriting, I declared a minor in English and American Literature. It was in my final years at NYU that my love for literature and language flourished. Post-graduation, after a brief stint in Los Angeles screenwriting, I was accepted into the University of Colorado at Boulder’s masters program in Literature.

In Colorado, I fell in love with the outdoors. In my year prior to my masters program, I taught outdoor education in the Rocky Mountains, sharing my love and knowledge of local history and geology at 8,500 ft. My next two years, 2014-2016, I spent in Boulder, intensively studying early American writers such as Herman Melville and Nathaniel Hawthorne. While attending school, I taught a course in graphic novels, worked as a writing consultant, and wrote my first novel.

The common theme throughout my experience is a passion for writing and a passion for teaching. I specialize in essay-writing and reading comprehension, with a particularly extensive knowledge of 18th and 19th century British and American Literature.

I cannot wait to help improve your reading and writing, and make your work the absolute best it can be! Who knows, along the way maybe I’ll even convince you to love language as much as I do.
