NOTE: THIS PROFILE IS CURRENTLY INACTIVE WHILE I ADJUST TO A NEW FULL-TIME ROLE.
If you need help doing your best in school, I would love to work with you! I'm a licensed school counselor, with years of experience helping students progress through school in a way that is meaningful, and organized.
Services I offer include:
* college and career planning
* learning about what interests you academically
* setting goals that we monitor over time
* getting and staying organized
* academic skills and test strategies
* dealing with test anxiety
* overcoming obstacles that interfere with your academics
* identifying extracurricular opportunities that will be meaningful for you
* brainstorming essay topics
* academic planning
* researching scholarships and financial aid
* test preparation
* short-term strengths based counseling
You might think of me as an academic coach who can help you get and stay organized, identify and reach academic and college planning goals, consider how you spend your time in and outside of the classroom. I can check in with you regularly to make sure you stay on track, to develop test taking and study strategies, and to plan your college and career path, I'm here for any or all of that.
Think of me as the person who takes over when your school counselor (who probably has hundreds of students in his or her caseload) just runs out of time.
In case you want to know what has prepared me to help students like you? I was a school counselor at Stanford University's Online High School for four academic years, and interned at a public IB school. I have run groups to help students with disabilities plan for college, developed high school summer workshop activities at Stanford to help students plan their academic program and extracurricular activities based on personality and career interests. I've worked for a year as a career counselor. I've worked with international students in Morocco to help them prepare for college in the United States, and so much more.
